Daniel Reitz

Daniel Reitz is an associate who joined Willow Legal Advisors to pursue his passion for helping small business owners in the state of West Virginia navigate the legal issues they face every day in forming and operating a business. 

 

Background

Mr. Reitz began his interest in corporate law when he co-founded a general contracting company focused on constructing new residential homes. Mr. Reitz’s experience in owning and operating a small business in West Virginia led him to apply to law school, with the intention of starting his own law firm after graduation. After interning with Willow Legal Advisors while in law school, Mr. Reitz quickly decided to join Willow Legal Advisors as a full-time associate. As part of the Willow Legal Advisors team, Mr. Reitz primarily assists local business clients and private equity sponsors in contract drafting and negotiation, while also growing a real estate practice to assist with deed preparation, title examinations and the closing process.

Mr. Reitz leverages his experiences as a small business owner to assist clients in identifying and avoiding issues that arise during the formation and operation of a business. Mr. Reitz has assisted local business clients, both for-profit and non-profit, navigate legal issues involving entity formation, intellectual property protection, contract negotiation, federal tax exemptions and corporate governance. Mr. Reitz enjoys developing trusted relationships with local business owners and considers it a privilege to assist them in growing and protecting their businesses.

 

Greatest Professional Accomplishment

Mr. Reitz is proud to have completed six years of honorable service in the United States Marine Corps Reserve. He believes that his time in service instilled the values of hard work, integrity and excellence which drive him to overcome obstacles and deliver outstanding results.

Listed below are a few (of many!) academic awards Mr. Reitz received while in law school:

  • Order of the Coif: for recognition of outstanding scholarly achievement and contribution to the West Virginia University College of Law. Members are selected from the top ten percent of each graduating class.
  • The Thomas N. Chambers Award in Taxation: The award is made annually to the student in the West Virginia College of Law who is judged to be the most proficient law student in the study of tax law.
